No, Patrons use Mockingbird for free!  Merchants pay a monthly subscription of $50.

Mockingbird is a mobile online platform for iPhone and Android that is easy and cost effective for Merchants to operate for advertising their locations, presenting goods and services, and reaching Patrons with selected Interests that align with the Merchants.  Once the Interest Profile is completed, Mockingbird begins presenting Merchants in The Exchange with the nearest first and proceeds to Merchants further geographically.  This accomplishes a multitude of benefits, including keeping local Patrons updated and aware of Merchant businesses, attracting interest from day trippers 100 miles away, enabling new transplants and travelers find Merchants' businesses quickly, and if a business is in a crowded metro area, Mockingbird cuts through the noise and puts Merchants right in front of Patrons for easy discovery and shopping, online first but preferably in person.

Merchants' cost for operating on Mockingbird is a flat subscription fee of $50 per month.

Transactions on Mockingbird cost the Merchant 2.9% plus 30 cents.  We try to save Merchants cost wherever we can.  Unfortunately, we could not escape the typical fees for secure transactions.

Unless using a trial period, the subscription starts when Merchants open an account, add payment information, and authorize your subscription.  A small payment will process immediately to verify your method of payment, but your first full subscription cost does not charge until the 1st day of the following month.  Pro Tip: Begin your subscription earlier in the month to get your first month almost entirely complimentary.

For the best experience, we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer for the Merchant Portal.  A tremendous modification is in development and scheduled for release in 2026.   The easiest way to get started on the Merchant Portal is through the link on our main page at www.mockingbirdexchange.com

Absolutely not, your data stays within the app.  Mockingbird Exchange is a privately owned forum, and the operators value your privacy and strongly protect it.

Call Fed-ex, UPS or USPS, each business will develop their own optimal method of shipping from shipping charges, to printing, packaging, pick up or drop off, or decide to keep all orders for in-store pickup only.  Orders are recommended to be addressed and sent within 24 hours from the order for a pleasing Patron experience. 

Unless you have a specialty or professional business, we refer to other platforms that are better suited to facilitate a garage sale type event.  Mockingbird is intended for quality merchants with quality presentation for a quality presence.

Yes, Mockingbird is for aspiring Merchants, Artisans, Craftsmen, and Specialties.  Open a Merchant account with Mockingbird to develop and improve your craft.

You will need to create a Patron account.  You can use your business name to build familiar connection with counterparts on Mockingbird or use your individual information to keep more private from your business.  Create the Patron account and start shopping.  When you find a fellow Merchant as a potential supplier, you can reach them on Mockingbird or contact them directly from their business contact information and possibly negotiate a better deal in greater volume.
