Why Mockingbird?
Living in Texas, I haven't always been in tech. On the daily, I manage wealth and had the privilege of doing so during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Like so many others, I saw restaurants struggle, boutiques stay closed, trade shows silent, and small businesses hopelessly competing against big box stores. One day, the phone rang. To weather the Pandemic, my friend and a highly skilled artisan who I deeply respected withdrew his last dollar. I could feel his defeat. "Should we close the account," he asked? "No, let's hope for a better day," I replied. Several months later, I was looking at the tragic balance feeling the unfair weight of the circumstances.
